Three unidentified lifeforms were found early on Oct. 24 on the surface of a meteorite that landed in a mountain area of Hokuriku. They are being kept safe beside the meteorite and appear calm as they wait for Earth’s press conference to begin.

The response team’s briefing notes still list their names as “Lifeform A, B and C.” Before the conference, reporters asked how to pronounce the names, how they should appear in subtitles and what collective term to use for the trio.

The first question relayed through the translation system was, “Where are we?” The visitors then asked how long the briefing would last and whether each outlet would get one question. The response team said questions would be taken after they were sorted by topic.

Breaking-news captions varied by channel: “Aliens make first visit to Japan?”, “Three found on meteorite” and “Unidentified lifeforms await briefing.” Earth’s press team is still deciding whether to call the event an arrival in Japan or an arrival on Earth.

At the end of the conference, one visitor was invited to offer a message to Earth. “Could you tell us the address of the meteorite that arrived before us?” it replied. Staff are now preparing hotel options for all three and working out how to explain the room assignments.
